High Life - Daft Punk

Daft Punk’s Discovery is a hedonistic joy ride with disco electronica stimulating the pleasure cortex of your brain. Rhythms come together and communicate in a language that bypasses your rational mind and spreads throughout your body like a constant jolt of pleasure. This album is without a doubt the quintessential modern classic of dance music.

Music happens to be an art form that transcends language. -Herbie Hancock

Kids In Technicolor (Knights Remix) - Coldplay vs. MGMT vs. Daft Punk

Right now I shall indulge you with an extravaganza of alternative bliss. Three iconic songs of our time all sewn together into nostalgic perfection. Everything in our modern era is a remix. We look around and advertisements, films, television shows, fashion, art, and everything else has borrowed elements from something made before it. Some might say it’s a lack of originality, our inability for new ideas. I say it’s our evolution, we build upon works of art that were already magnificent and we still make them better. We live in a world where nothing is truly original, how could it be with already several millennia of art already created. However, it really doesn’t matter whether something is original, what is important is its authenticity and whether whatever you created contains and conveys a true meaning to you.

One More Time - Daft Punk

Most kids when they grew up wanting to be rockstars. They would blast rock music like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Nirvana and play the air-guitar or air-drums pretending to do a kick-ass solo as if they were headlining Madison Square Garden in New York City. I was one of the weird kids who didn’t do that. Instead I would blast Daft Punk to maximum volume and air-DJ, pretending I was spinning the turntables, cross-fading between different beats, and bob my head as if I were wearing headphones on only one ear.

“Don’t stop dancing.”

The Son of Flynn - Daft Punk

Ever had that moment of realization where everything is suddenly clear? That feeling of finally obtaining true clarity and becoming unhinged by the shackles of confusion and disarray? That breakthrough you have been waiting for where everything starts to connect and make sense? Well this song captures that exact moment. Daft Punk’s score for Tron: Legacy is genius, I have listen to it for hours on end. It has helped me through long study sessions and has soothed my mind in times where I just needed to think.

“It’s amazing how productive doing nothing can be.”

Music for a Zombie Apocalypse (8tracks Playlist)

What happens if the world is driven into chaos? Can we survive an epidemic running rampant throughout the world infecting everyone we love? What would we do during humanity’s final hour? How would we handle our demise? Would we resist against nature’s will? Or would we simply raise our arms in defeat and perish? Here’s the score to our ultimate destruction, a collection of eerie songs that will send chills down your spine.

The Game Has Changed - Daft Punk

When Daft Punk’s score for Tron: Legacy subtlety started in the background of the striking visuals, my body was covered in goosebumps. This score is a lovechild of Hans Zimmer’s The Dark Knight score and 80’s synth music. Slow in it’s build up, the bass is felt strongly in the chest as the suspense rises to an unforgettable climax. During the entire film I was mesmerized by the score that accompanied the breathtaking visuals perfectly, evoking a true cinematic feel with cyberpunk sensibilities. Sure, Tron: Legacy’s story is lackluster, lacking any depth or intrigue, and causing tons of confusion for most of the duration of the film. But, despite the mediocre story that was clearly written to appease the attention span of twelve year-old boys across the world, I couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer beauty that was presented to me. I reverted back to my twelve year-old self and sat in awe of one of the most imaginative visuals I’ve ever seen and relished in heart-pounding music that accompanied it. I’m now excited to hear Daft Punk’s next score, this soundtrack definitely shows they have the potential to join the greats of film composers.

Aerodynamic (Daft Punk Remix) - Daft Punk

This is probably the only electronic song you will hear with an epic guitar solo. That’s what makes this the best Daft Punk remix ever made, the smooth technological rhythms of the electronic guitar seep into my soul, take me by surprise and show me the true magic of modern music. Like the song says, this music makes me feel so free.

“We gonna celebrate, celebrate and dance so free.”

Make Love - Daft Punk

On the cusp of everything beautiful. Slowly rising to the ultimate height of sensual awakening. Making love, the act of two souls becoming one entity that transcends the confides of reality. It’s a vehicle for escaping to a place without suffering. A place where the mind is completely at ease, and the body takes over. A place of pure uninhibited happiness. It’s an act of divinity, with the power to transform you in the most intimate of ways. Make love, it’s a beautiful thing.

Digital Love - Daft Punk

A Letter to My Dear Wonderwall;

An eternal divide across an immense ocean separates us. Two lost souls seeking that heavenly connection pretending that airplanes in the night-sky are like shooting stars. Yet beyond all odds, we have connected in mystifying ways. Through endless exchanges of poetic words, that I wish would never stop, we have shared so much but much more remains. Through the looking glass with rose-colored glasses we’ve entered each others wonderland. We’ve embarked into our dreams that intertwine perfectly. A magical journey that spans the entire world with no limits and only harmony. Alas, our illusions of romantic grandeur won’t suffice and reality will need to take hold, for when that time comes around I wish you will be there.

“Ooh I don’t know what to do about this dream and you. I wish this dream comes true.”
