This trailer is one minute and thirty-eight seconds of pure ecstasy. Even after three years since I first saw this trailer for 500 Days of Summer I’m still in love with it. I’ve noticed that a worthy and engaging trailer like this is hard to come by. Unlike most crap Hollywood trailers that vie for spoiling the movie by telling you exactly what the movie is about by showing all the best scenes, this trailer works on evoking the feeling of the film instead. Once you watch it you are already in the character’s head, you feel that rush of excitement as with the beginning of every summer romance when your head is in the clouds. This trailer is one the best I have ever seen, it always manages to make me feel alive.

I think I just reached badass overload right now. Fast cars, hot babes, and action stars, what more can any man ask for? Yea, these movies are definitely a huge guilty pleasure of mine, I simply cannot get enough of their overwhelming badassery (yes, that is a word, even though spell check believes otherwise, dam you spell check!).
“This just went from mission impossible to mission freaking insanity!”
P.S. The Rock totally looks badass with that King Leonidas goatee.

Song In Trailer: Wong Chia Chi’s Theme - Alexandre Desplat
The theater lights fade into darkness and the previews (by far the best part of going to the movies) starts. Then in a sudden wave of intensity and mesmerizing cinematographic beauty the hairs at the back of my neck immediately stand up and my body is covered in goosebumps. Chills zip down my spine watching this haunting trailer starring Javier Bardem and directed by renowned Mexican director, Alejandro González Iñárritu. This is a story of a man in a free-fall into the depths of the darkness of humanity. His escape from a tainted reality and his spiritual journey for redemption. I love films that go beyond the superficial melodrama and delve into the deeper, and often unexplored, internal reality of a troubled individual. Stories like this pull you into that character’s reality, you see the world through their eyes and experience their emotions, that always makes for a truly powerful experience.

Sucker Punch Official Trailer
Song In Trailer: The Crablouse - Lords of Acid
Whoa! Let’s me get this straight, this movie has beautiful woman in skimpy clothing kicking ass, giant robot samurais, fire-breathing dragons, medieval castles, ultra-futuristic androids, World War 1 style dog-fights, and burning Zeppelins? I don’t know what to make of this movie except that it looks unbelievably insane! What is shown in the trailer is the culmination of all my cinematic fantasies. Zack Snyder is seriously one of my favorite directors right now, all his films have this unique style unlike anything I’ve seen before, and Sucker Punch seems likes it’s putting style, action, and fantasy into massive overdrive. He probably wrote the screenplay under a binge of Red Bull and perhaps something stronger. Anyways, this movie is going to be fun, I can’t wait!
