This trailer is one minute and thirty-eight seconds of pure ecstasy. Even after three years since I first saw this trailer for 500 Days of Summer I’m still in love with it. I’ve noticed that a worthy and engaging trailer like this is hard to come by. Unlike most crap Hollywood trailers that vie for spoiling the movie by telling you exactly what the movie is about by showing all the best scenes, this trailer works on evoking the feeling of the film instead. Once you watch it you are already in the character’s head, you feel that rush of excitement as with the beginning of every summer romance when your head is in the clouds. This trailer is one the best I have ever seen, it always manages to make me feel alive.

Thieves - She & Him

Zooey Deschanel is among one the most beautiful and interesting woman in modern pop culture. She has conquered the film scene with her sweet quirky characters and her natural charm, but now she has also conquered the music world. Zooey, lending her musical talents to several films like Yes Man and 500 Days Of Summer has proved to be quite a talented musician. She now joins M. Ward to make the lovely two-person folk band, She & Him, and released the sequel to their album Volume One which came out in 2006. I have to say from the very start this album is an excellent follow-up to their previous one. Maintaining that folk pop ballad sound that was typical in the 1950s, She & Him prove they can take you back in time to another world of soda pop, homecoming dances, and summer romances.
