Jealousy Is Overrated

Jealousy is a unnecessary feeling. It has no business in love. Jealousy is just a fear of loss tearing inside of you. Jealousy is the imminent fear of your heart being broken into tiny little pieces that you’ll never be able to put back together again. Jealousy is the pest that gnaws at you in times of irrationality. Jealousy is our insecurities staring right back at us. Jealousy is not love, it’s fear. If you love someone, you should trust them, you should let them be free and not attempt to control their lives. Because once you tighten the grasp, the quicker you will lose them. We are human, we are frivolous creatures, that is our nature. Embrace it. You will never be someone’s one and only, that is a fallacy written by poets dreaming of ideal romances. That is why marriages fail. That is why people lead unhappy lives. It’s all because we try to live the romances that we read in novels and see in Hollywood movies. They are beautiful in every way, and excellent examples of the human spirit at it’s best, but like with all fiction it does not belong in reality. We are creatures of love and we’ll love many. We are creatures of lust and we’ll lust after many. True love does exist, but never expect it to be a pristine example of monogamy. True love is something deeper. True love is a true freedom. True love is loving someone who can never leave your mind. You might lust after someone else, but that doesn’t mean that your true love has been tarnished. Reverse, if you truly love someone even when you lust after someone else, and you keep thinking about your true love regardless, then that love is only strengthen. We are sexual creatures, let’s not inhibit ourselves. Let’s not have petty jealousies and possessiveness, because that is not love, it is fear.

On Hedonism:

Hedonism is the belief that pleasure is the only intrinsic good in this world, that if you are enjoying your life to the very maximum you are ultimately doing the world a favor. However there lies a huge misconception with hedonism, people believe it’s living in excess. In other words, they think hedonism is taking tons of drugs, drinking way too much alcohol, and being self-destructive. That’s not hedonism, that is stupidity. Hedonism is more akin to the Taoist philosophy of going with the flow, of savoring every single second of life, and of constantly living in moment and nowhere else. For example if you are drinking tea, you should savor every flavor in that tea, let the world fade away and the tea itself become the only thing you think about. Or when having sex; forget about the world outside, leave the past and the future alone, and for the moments of heated passion together time no longer exist. The only thing that matters is you and whoever you are making love to, nothing else. Hedonism is about letting go of your inhibitions and being free to explore the things that give you maximum pleasure, because there nothing wrong with enjoying things in life. You can do good and enjoy it at the same time. You can drink, eat, laugh, and love as much as you desire. Most of us are in a desert walking past an oasis and not stopping for a drink. We deny ourselves the pleasures of the world because we fear being judged or worse we fear that we might like so much we’ll never stop. Do whatever makes you happy, because if you are happy the world is happy. Good vibes spread around when you are constantly in a state of pleasure. That is real hedonism my friends.

“Why not seize the pleasure at once, how often is happiness destroyed by preparation, foolish preparations.” -Jane Austen

Life is the greatest gift that has been bestowed upon you. You are here to live. You are here to delight in the pleasures of this world. Don’t let it be squandered in the darkness. There is light somewhere. You must seek it. The universe will offer you chances. Know them. Take them. Death is a certainty that we cannot escape. Take risks while you can because life is meant to be lived. Remember you are marvelous in every way, shape, and form. You have the power to change the course of people’s lives. You have the power to make an impact on this universe. It might be a small one, but your footprints will never fade. Go forth and live, because that is only thing you can and should do.

Live & Love

Live and love! They should be one in the same, for life is love and love is life. Treat everything you do with the utmost love you can give. Love every person with all your heart. Love your hobbies and career with all your soul. Love the world that surrounds you. Love everything! Because one can never give too much love, there is no such thing. Be happy. Celebrate every moment. Not because it could be your last, that doesn’t matter, but instead because every waking moment is beautiful. Wake up! Breath! Be yourself! Be free! Sure life might have its share of hardships and heartbreaks, but that is a quintessential part of the human experience. Every bump in the road is just another lesson to be learned. Every obstacle makes the journey much more sweeter. Take in all the experiences you’ve had for that they have made who you are today. And you might not think so, but you are a beautiful person because you’ve done the most important thing you can do in life, which is to live and to love.

Teenage Heartbreak - We Are Trees

On Relinquishing Your Desires

Throughout my many years on this Earth I’ve learned one important lesson, the only way to obtain everything you want in life is by relinquishing all your desires. To release yourself from the shackles of that lingering feeling of yearning that we all have from time to time or even some cases, all the time! We all feel desire when we truly want something so much that it consumes our thoughts and influences our judgement. However it’s the powerful desire that clouds our minds, we get to a point where we want something so badly we would do anything for it. To a person who is starving, every thing that is remotely edible seems delicious. That is the very pattern of thinking that raises obstacles in obtaining whatever you want in life. Once you are completely without desire, you truly live in the moment and notice every opportunity before you. It’s like being given a thousand piece jigsaw puzzle. You know that there is a final picture, you might not have it yet in front of you because you haven’t solved the puzzle yet, but you still know (to a near certainty) that with a little work you will see the bigger picture. Just think of whatever you want as the jigsaw puzzle laying right before you, knowing that whatever you want is within your grasp, there is no need for a desperate longing, all you need to do is reach out and get it. It might take a few minutes to solve the puzzle or maybe a few months, but you will still obtain the bigger picture. Thus, one has to relinquish desire in order to obtain what one truly wants. One has to be in a mode of certainty that whatever happens it is going to be for your benefit. That is the zen way and the Taoist way of approaching life and it’s a truly beautiful philosophy.

“I wonder what you’ve become.”
